Can Your ChatGPT Content Satisfy Google’s EEAT Requirements?

ChatGPT Content Satisfy Google EEAT Requirements

In the ever-evolving technological landscape, the role of ChatGPT in content generation has become a topic of discussion. It is a fantastic tool, but NOT your content savior. While it can pump out lots of content really fast or help generate ideas, it falls short in fulfilling E-E-A-T requirements, an essential aspect of Google’s Quality Rater Guidelines (QRG) for search. What are these? Let’s check them out.

What Does Google E-E-A-T Mean?

Google has put Quality Rater Guidelines in place to determine whether its search ranking systems provide helpful and relevant information to users. Using these guidelines, human evaluators understand Google’s expectations for search result quality, relevance, and user satisfaction. E-E-A-T is an integral part of these guidelines. It stands for experience, expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness.

  • Experience: The new E in E-E-A-T was added in the December 2022 update. It means that the quality of the content can be evaluated by determining how experienced the content creator is in the written topic.
  • Expertise: Google assesses the expertise of the content creators or the website itself in relation to the topics covered. Expertise can be determined by factors such as the author’s credentials, qualifications, professional experience, or the website’s reputation as a reliable source of information.
  • Authoritativeness: It refers to the credibility and reputation of the website or the individuals responsible for the content. Google looks for indications that the website is widely recognized as an authority in its field and that the information presented is trustworthy.
  • Trustworthiness: It involves assessing the reliability and accuracy of the information provided and examining the transparency of the website, including clear sourcing and citations, as well as the absence of deceptive practices, misleading information, or harmful content.

Google gives priority to trust over the other members of the E-E-A-T family. It believes that no matter how experienced, expert, or authoritative a page may be, it will have a low E-E-A-T if it’s untrustworthy.

ChatGPT Generated Content Fulfil E-E-A-T Requirements

Remember that Google’s search raters use E-E-A-T and other guidelines to evaluate the performance of its ranking systems. However, it is not a direct ranking factor.

Can ChatGPT Generated Content Fulfil E-E-A-T Requirements?

Google algorithm has become intelligent. It can detect content that is mass produced using AI tool. If you’ve created content using ChatGPT or any other ai generate content, it’s not going to have the E-E-A-T signals that Google looks for while ranking any content.

AI generated may lack the nuanced understanding, creativity, and contextual understanding that humans possess. It will not be written by someone with first-hand or life experience with the topic. Neither will it be written by a person with skills and knowledge for the topic nor by one who is an industry expert and considered a go-to source for the topic. It will be untrustworthy since it will lack experience, expertise, and authoritativeness.

What’s the Solution?

While ChatGPT can assist in content creation and optimization, it cannot provide real-time data and truly unique content. To ensure quality, relevance, and engagement and create amazing content that truly embodies E-E-A-T, generates traffic, and ranks on Google, you need a professional content writer with expertise, skills, and creativity.
